#twinning

First and Foremost….nothing gives me the “Man I have my shit together” feeling more than looking down and realizing I unintentionally coordinated my nail polish with my outfit. Is there anything better in life than fabulous nail polish? I think not.

Anyway...yes, I hashtagged my subject. It's only appropriate for an entry about my twin cousin. (I mean after all, who else can I count on to hashtag in my birthday cards?!) I woke up to the greatest text from a friend this week, saying  “Occasionally, I mistake Emily’s tweets for yours and vice versa. Sometimes you are like….the same person”.

It’s really fabulous that everyone else recognizes the awesomeness that is the twin cousin & I.  I have a large family on my father’s side. Truth be told, I’ve got first cousins I’ve never even met. But, there were a couple aunts & uncles we were close to on that side, and Em’s dad was one of them.  As a result…..Em & I were relatively inseparable as children.  I’ve always said I don’t know how to function without my sister, and I think that probably applies to Em too.

Aside from being the most bad ass Cricket & Magic Nursery Doll owners you ever did meet, we knew how to fight like sisters, we knew how to obnoxiously sing together (a trait we have carried on and on….) and of course, we knew how to snitch on our big siblings --- together, of course. (Because who ELSE was going to tell on our siblings for giving minors alcohol at our family reunion, right?? I mean, that was OUR JOB! And what a great job we did!)

And 28 years later, she’s still one of the most awesome people ever that I love more than anything. I’m not sure how I’d function if a day went by that we didn’t speak. (Or how I would purchase clothes without texting her a picture of them first to get her thoughts)

The important thing is today I booked my flight to Ohio in December! I haven’t been back for a family reunion in years, and this year felt like a good year to do it – and obviously gives me a few days with my cousin again! And, we just started planning our most epic Disney vacation ever next year--- look out Ariel, Prince Charming, Snow White & Chip & Dale, we’re coming your way! (And we might cry. Because it’s another thing we’re really really awesome at.)

Speaking of which, has anyone stayed at Disney's Art of Animation resort? I am booking us there because I’m convinced our lives will be over if we don’t get to stay in a Little Mermaid room.  It looks beyond fabulous, and we might completely geek out over the Little Mermaid pool. Also, because we’re awesome, I looked up the closest bars (because nothing says Disney like crying over the Little Mermaid & then downing some vodka?) and it appears there’s one near the pool? Win, Win, Win all around.

Weekend Shenanigans....

Monday already -- this weekend went by WAY too fast! I am so bummed the weekend is over.

I crashed at my sisters Friday night...Mom, Sam, Paige & I all wound up in Samantha's room watching movies & painting our nails and toenails to match our shirts for the Heart Walk. It was pretty much as girly of a night as you could possibly get. And then Sam & I caught up on our reality tv.... (Are we the only sisters that kick my sisters poor husband out of his own bed for the night when I spend the night so we can catch up on our tv together? Apparently, my sister and I still think we're still kids curled up in her bed watching Golden Girls together)

We had our Heart Association Walk on Saturday morning! As usual, we had a blast...

Kadin spotted Puss N Boots as soon as we walked in!

with my sister!

Kadin MELTS.MY.HEART when  he wants to write his own tribute to granny on the board.

But he REALLY melted my heart this year when he wrote his own tribute sign and spelled Granny's  name wrong. Sweetest thing ever, god I love this boy!!!!

With Sam, Paige & Mom before the walk! We're only missing Kadin here... I had someone take a pic of all of us before the walk with my actual camera, but I've gotta play around with it and make it a little better!

A couple guys from our local TV station were there this year. Kadin and I wandered off for a little bit & we spotted a WKRN booth, and to my surprise, Kadin went over and wanted to get autographs and pictures with them. This is Justin Bruce, our weatherman. As we left, Kadin went "THAT was AWESOME, we met him face to face!"

with the niece during the walk. Kadin, as usual, rode his scooter way ahead of us, and Sam, Paige & I were together - and Mom & Berniece wound up a little further behind us. Everyone had a blast!

The American Heart Association caught this of Kadin at the Finish Line! When we got to the finish line, we were cracking up because Kadin had not only finished the walk, he had went to the snack table, gotten multiple snacks and already ate! He does, however, think the walk is a race...when we start he always goes "Let the Heart Walk Challenge Race BEGIN!"

Yet another great weekend with the family....this weekend the sis will spend the night at my house for a sisters night of wine & movies! I brought back a giant case of wine from Georgia Winery, and brought home some mulling spices so my sis can finally see what it tastes like!

Even though I had a 3 1/2 hour engagement session on Sunday, I was home in plenty time for all the important Sunday night shows....you know, Once Upon a Time (seriously, I have an obsession with this show!), Revenge, Kardashians....(Is anyone else concerned about the well-being of Prince Charming on OUAT? I've convinced myself I will probably die if they kill him off the show), and made my Sunday almost completely nothing but television.

I was going to say that today is going to be my shopping afternoon, but....let's not lie, I worked from home today, so the chances of me getting out of my pajamas are pretty slim to none. What's the point of WFH if I have to get dressed, right??

Closet Revamp....

As some of you know, Michelle Pfeiffer is my style icon. I'm a little obsessed with everything she wears. I mean I've only talked about her blue dress about a million times -- before I finally found a replica and bought it (and will wear it to the Derby next year!!). I could only find it two sizes smaller than what I was wearing at the time and bought it, telling myself I would MAKE myself fit it in it. And voila! It fits me now ;)  There's pretty much nothing she wears that I don't fall in love with and instantly pout over not having it. (Should I actually admit this includes some of the stuff she wore in Grease 2?)

So I spotted this dress....and it reminded me SO much of this other dress of hers! So, this was my splurge outfit for the week. Love Love Love this dress!

I'm totally on the prowl for a few more of her dresses I'm convinced I can't live without. Like THIS Alexander McQueen:

Is that not completely gorgeous? And of course it's no longer in stock or being carried by Neiman Marcus, so I have to do some serious digging to find this one. At least it's one that I'd totally wear more than one place.

I just got home from a long weekend in Georgia & Kentucky -- yes, I know, I'm never home!  The bestie and I had a blast, and trekked up to Kentucky to see Don Williams. What a freaking show -- more on that later. This girl is tired!
